Selection Process Overview

The selection process for CSBC Bihar Driver Constable typically involves the following stages:

  1. Written Examination (Qualifying): As detailed above, this is the first stage. Candidates must pass this exam to move to the next stage.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) & Physical Standard Test (PST): Candidates who qualify the written exam will undergo physical tests to assess their fitness and meet required physical standards. This includes:
    • Running: Male candidates: 1.6 km in 7 minutes; Female candidates: 1 km in 7 minutes.
    • High Jump: Male candidates: Minimum 3 feet 6 inches; Female candidates: Minimum 2 feet 6 inches.
    • Long Jump: Male candidates: Minimum 10 feet; Female candidates: Minimum 7 feet.
    • Shot Put: Male candidates (16 pounds shot): Minimum 14 feet; Female candidates (12 pounds shot): Minimum 8 feet.
    • Physical Standards (Height, Chest): Specific requirements vary by category.
  3. Motor Driving Skill Test (Driving Test): This is a crucial stage where candidates’ practical driving skills are evaluated. It includes tests on driving different types of vehicles (Jeep, Car, Bus/Truck), reverse parking, gear control, and general road safety awareness. Knowledge of car parts, maintenance, lubricating, and mechanical/technical faults of vehicles is also assessed. This test carries significant marks.
