The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) will close the NEET UG 2025 Round 1 choice filling process today on its official website – mcc.nic.in. Candidates who have cleared the NEET UG 2025 qualifying cutoff must ensure they complete their choice filling and locking by today to be considered for allotment in India’s top MBBS and BDS colleges.
NEET UG 2025 Counselling Overview
This year, over 12 lakh candidates have successfully qualified in NEET UG 2025. They will compete for around 1.15 lakh MBBS seats in both government and private institutions across India. The counselling is divided into two parts:
- 15% All India Quota (AIQ): Managed by MCC for MBBS/BDS seats in government colleges.
- 85% State Quota: Handled by respective state authorities based on NEET UG 2025 scores.

Fees Structure
Students applying for Medical, Dental, or B.Sc. Nursing seats must pay two types of fees: Registration Fee (non-refundable) and Security Deposit (refundable).

NEET UG Counselling 2025: Reservation Criteria for AIQ
The central reservation policy for 15% All India Quota seats is as follows:
- Scheduled Caste (SC): 15%
- Scheduled Tribe (ST): 7.5%
- OBC-NCL (as per central list): 27%
- Economically Weaker Sections (EWS): 10%
- Persons with Disabilities (PwD): 5%
1. Can I modify my choices after locking them in NEET UG 2025 counselling ?
No, once you lock your choices during any counselling round, you cannot modify or reorder them. Make sure to review your options carefully before locking, as they are considered final and will be used for seat allotment.
2. What happens if I don’t report to the allotted college after seat allotment ?
If you fail to report within the given time, your allotted seat will be cancelled, and you may lose your security deposit. You will also be ineligible for further rounds in some cases, so timely reporting is crucial.
3. Is it mandatory to participate in all rounds of NEET counselling ?
No, it’s not mandatory. If you are satisfied with your allotted seat in Round 1 or Round 2, you can exit the counselling process. However, if you want to upgrade, you must opt for the next round during the reporting phase.
4. Will I get a refund if I don’t get a seat in any counselling round ?
Yes, candidates who are not allotted any seat in any round and haven’t opted for seat acceptance will receive a full refund of the security deposit after the counselling concludes.
